Streamfile

How it works

Streamfile is a hosted FTP replacement solution that allows streaming functionality. By streaming, we mean that when an uploader sends a file, downloaders are able to start the download process immediately. This single functionality enhancement actually allows time savings of up to 90% (compared to a traditional FTP server-to-client transfer). It's like P2P, but with a 24h answering service.

Security

Streamfile offers password protection to all of our transfers. Just set a password before uploading a file and our system automatically ZIP the file with a 128-bit encryption protected by the same password as your recipients need to access the transfer. This way the files are encrypted onto our disk systems - and you own the encryption key all the way. Also if you're a Pro user all of this is done over a 256-bit AES SSL encryption.

FTP

Need to upload larger files than 2Gb? In this case we allow Pro users to upload single files up to 30Gb in size via our FTP upload service. Just connect to ftp.streamfile.com and use your regular Pro login credentials. This way you can keep any of your old workflows. To determine recipients to send the notification emails out to, you will need, prior upload of the first file - to upload a simple txt file with a row separated list of recipients.

Because FTP is not encrypted, we include a VPN account to all of our Pro customers that signs up for a annual pre-paid Pro account. In this case you will get all transfers tunneled inside a SSL VPN tunnel making Streamfile more secure than ever.
